Term 2, 2021 Recreational Classes
The recreational program is designed for new swimmers of all ages to learn the basics of the sport. During the 1.0 – 1.5 hour training sessions, swimmers will practice synchro skills, learn basic routines and develop an understanding of the synchro theory in an 8-10 week course. Coaches follow an international and accredited synchro training program based on the Star Levels, teaching skills of increasing difficulty, incorporating these into basic routines accompanied by music. On week 8 of every term is a display of an individual skills evaluation.
All classes start with 30min on land followed by a swimming warm-up and synchro skills. Every year we aim to have a two Club water-shows in June and December and two Skills assessments in March and September.
Lessons generally include:
Warm up laps in the pool
Progressive skills training
Coaching in a choreographed group routine to music
‘Land drilling’ to learn routine choreography and timing
If you are interested in joining our program we recommend you start with a free trial during any of our regular sessions.
Recreational Swimmers Development:
Star Assessments and Water- shows
Water shows are a chance for swimmers to show-off for family and friends. Swimmers are placed in a Star Assessments according to the Star level achieved, thereby ensuring that they compete against swimmers with similar skills. Competitions and shows are lots of fun and will be sure to build camaraderie amongst teammates!
